It is very hard to make meaningful change in a person. That is why we set up our project to have long-term contact with the people involved. For most people, there is a route through My Generation that elongates their contact with us, i.e. they often move between projects and we link people with networks in the wider community. We have developed our stewardship model so that they do not become dependent on My Generation. We also encourage all of our contacts to build contacts of their own and develop skills and qualifications that they can pass on and are needed in the job market. All names in the case studies have been changed to protect those involved.
