MyGeneration’s Job Club helps long-term unemployed people get into training and back to work. Some people need an attitude fix, others need ID or an effective CV. Most people who come to us are keen to enrol in training so that they can engage in full-time work. Our Job Club manager is in the office Monday to Thursday to offer guidance on all matters related to work.
MyGeneration is a proud partner of the TAG programme, having been involved in its establishing and piloting along with a group of fitness industry professionals. Together, we believe intervention can have a profound and lasting beneficial impact on this community.
We offer a six month 'journey' designed to help 18-24 year olds redefine their view of the world and their role within it. TAG graduates study, train and achieve for qualifications, as well as life/work experiences which enrich their lives, enhance their career prospects and increasing their likelihood of securing a job.
This programme, which combines academic work with gym-based learning and two work placements. It is designed to help candidates learn more about working life, as well as themselves. The programme comprises of modules such as understanding what success looks like in the workplace, an introduction to the sports and leisure industry, enhancing Participant’s knowledge relating to exercise and fitness issues from a personal perspective, as well as how to communicate (health and fitness) knowledge to others and motivate them.
There is a choice of four specialist modules which are: Boxing, Community Activity Programmes, Gym-based exercises , Pool- based skills and UK based work placement.
TAG is not just a process to secure a qualification, or an entry point into full-time employment. It is a journey of self-discovery and self enlightenment designed to help this generation develop the skills, aptitude and confidence to change their lives, achieve fulfilment and help society. It is a journey designed to help people arrive at a destination, be it a career choice, a more profound understanding of the consequences of their lifestyle choices and/or a sense of purpose, value and understanding of their role in society.
