MyGeneration is committed to assisting parents with the job of bringing up society’s children and our future generations. Parents United has been developed to provide solutions in line with the ‘Every Child Matters’ Government programme and will encompass all five of their stated outcomes : healthy living, staying safe, enjoying and achieving, making a positive contribution and economic well being. This programme is unique due to its partnership with parents by including them in the planning and implementation of the programme. We provide methods of addressing issues in a way that is acceptable to the participants, which leads to greater take up. Our future goal is for parents to become mentors to other parents in line with our core principal sustainable community and family development. Parents United – The Programme • The programme starts with a self assessment by the family, of their needs and issues • The MyGeneration worker completes a shared evaluation with the family • Based on the results of the evaluation, an agreement is made on the areas deemed to be most problematic and a Specific Family Programme is developed.
